MÍO/MINE is a quietly powerful solo exhibition by Tatiana Mesa Paján that begins with a deeply human act: packing a suitcase and carrying a sense of home into the unknown. Rooted in the experience of diaspora, the exhibition reflects on what it means to own, remember, and belong when movement becomes permanent and possessions are always temporary.

Using found and borrowed objects, Mesa Paján reveals how memory and identity attach themselves to everyday things. Each object arrives with its own history—flowers become pigment, mirrors transform into island-like forms, and fragile dandelions are preserved through time and care. Some works emerge from decades of collecting, while others take shape during the run of the exhibition itself, emphasizing process, impermanence, and change.

Throughout MÍO/MINE, domestic objects hold quiet tension between home and elsewhere, past and present, authenticity and imitation. In a gesture rooted in trust and care, the artist incorporates ten objects borrowed from community members and returns them at the exhibition’s close—underscoring temporary belonging and shared stewardship.

Intimate, poetic, and reflective, MÍO/MINE invites visitors to consider a simple but persistent question: what is truly ours?
